    In my 3500 miles, I've done NOTHING for maintenance. My first 1 1/2 years I didn't charged the batteries enough. Have had the second set for going on 4 years.     EVT 4000e Power cuts out after very short time. Changed batteries at considerable expense but no better. Runs on stand under no load but soon cuts out when put under load.Very disappointed.

    I've had the EVT 4000e scooter for 14 months. Other than an issue with the rear tire loosing pressure (which was corrected by the scooter shop), I've had no problems after about 1400 miles.     We had a great time with the EVT 4000e for a month or so until the first charger went bad. Got a replacement which lasted a few months and then it went bad. Couldn't get a third one because the company refused to take responsibility for their defective charger and get this...it's the only one that ...

    If you use it at night you need the lights on but kill battery life. I get 20 miles out of it but in daylight just over 33 miles as I free wheel it down hill keeping the LEDs in the green at a speed 35 to 50 mph.

    Utterly reliable, no sound, no drive belt have driven it for 10.000 km at virtually no costs. Yes, you need to balance the battery set before using it.     Never could go more than 10 miles on a full charge since the day it was new. I would be happy with a 20 mile range. Upon purchase it had a bad battery. Had to pay shipping to receive a new one.
    I would not buy the 4000e again nor could I recommend it.

    In California the EVT 4000e is classified as a motorized bicycle, so it's legal to ride in bike lanes and the license plate registration is only $32 (no annual fees).
