If you use a tour company be sure you are really clear about your expectations. (e.g. if you only speak English or German make sure your guide has several years of experience guiding in that language.) Also, make sure you have a detailed itinerary and an itemized tour receipt so ...

I travelled all around Iceland renting a Toyota RAV4, a small 4WD good for two, too small for three...we were three and tree rucksacks and my photographic stuff...well, it's really incredible. Be prepared if you're not used of adventure...roads are bumped everywhere, be able to understand a roadmap ...
