I bought my Piaggio X9 off eBay for sub £1k, with 5500 miles. Fitted my Givi topbox I had from R1100GS, and now commute in London.
Even on the motorway I am relatively happy with it, cruising at 80 mph all day long.

Great bike. i have fitted a mud guard under the seat. The guard is for a trailer 10 inch wheel. Stop water and grit getting under the seat.
The insurance is very cheap, I paid £101.

I bought my X9 250 (2001) only 6 months ago..... this model comes with a Honda Foresight Engine, and needless to say, its bomb-proof! The rest of the bike has not presented any problems so far and I've luckily joined an X9 owners club online, who can answer almost ANY technical query I have.

I bought this Piaggio X9 250 bike at the very good price of £1000. It needed a call out almost immediately. It has had the digidash replaced 3 times, needed a new alternator, fuel pump died, electronics fried, amongst other problems. The stand caused a problem which caused the belt to snap. Th ...

This Piaggio X9 250 is the best bike I ever owned, and I have had a lot from a BMW and Moto Guzzi to Honda and Yamaha town bikes. It is the best comprimise for a daily commute of 30k with a mixture of town and country roads.

I bought my Piaggio X9 250 EVO 2004 second hand in may 2005 with 6700 km on it. Soon I noticed it had no cooling water, I poured it in the water tank, but then I noticed it's leaking. I drove the scooter to dealer and I had to wait for 3 weaks to get new water pump (and my country is Italy's neighbo ...

The Piaggio X9 250 is a good ride, tyre pressures are critical, especially when cornering, the bike is liable to ground with the result of a rapid change of riding position.
Mine is now three years old and I am about to change it for a new one, why? Things start to need replacing, apart from tyres ...

I've had the Piaggio X9 250 for about 2 yrs now. I had 'inherited' it from a friend who had decided to leave the country. It had only about 10,000km (6,200miles) on the clock and was hardly ridden in its first 2-3 yrs.
I use it for short rides to work, about 15 mins every morning and evening; and w ...

I got my Piaggio X9 250 2001 model Scooter on ebay, a 600 mile round trip, the seller started it up for me and all seemed ok, I went down in a hire van (vw transporter) and it was too tall with it's screen and mirrors, so I removed these so I could get it in. When I used it for the first time the ba ...
