I intended to do my CBT then go stright in for the Direct Access Course. However with no prior experience of biking I decided to get a cheap run around to gain experience before doing my DAS. The Yamaha SR125 is my first bike and I'm really enjoying riding it. I like the looks - much nicer than some of the more current 125s. Considering I'm not the most mechanically minded person, I'm finding it easy to maintain and service (with the help of the trusty Haynes manual). ...

Really like the bikes handling and the gear change is really smooth and you can to it with easy, very reasonable speed plenty enough to give you a thrill no proble ...

The Yamaha sr125 is a perfect learner bike, it is comfortable to ride and handles perfectly. it is also light which is great if you drop it. it will be easy to pick back up. parts are cheap if you break anything and need to replace it. you can fill it up from empty for around £8 (subject to c ...

Excellent first motorbike especially if you are a first time rider if you do come off the SR just pick it back up again because it only weighs 111Kg and off you go riding it again. I haved owned a Yamaha SR125 custom for over a year and all I have done to it is maintenance parts.

    The only bad poi ...

Good first time bike. Forgiving handling with a sound engine. Reliable and easy to maintain in good condition.
Lovely bike to ride. Having some trouble changing bulbs, but that is due to previous owner and not the bike.

I have been using one of these bikes to pass my motorcycle test, and have found them to be easy to control, highly reliable, and nippy at low speeds. The milometer shows over 300K miles (it's a rental bike) and yet it has started every time. I am quite small (5 foot 8) and found that after a days ri ...
