this is one of the best looking scooter website on the net. Never before have I ever seen a scooter site like this one. Colorful, great parts, and free shipping. I would recommend this website to all that have a GY6 150cc scooter clone engine. No other website like it.

Bought the bike used, eventually took it out for several long runs, approx 120 miles each run, then the engine seized. I took the engine apart to find the big end connecting rod had worn, about eighth of inch play in it. When i was costing the new parts I discovered it was cheaper to buy a new engine from an online auction Co, they send a new engine, new carb, new belt already on the engine, new CVT clutches and new engine management systems. It was a simple install, only had to replace the stator with my old engine stator because the wiring was different. But now this engine has seized and I always changed the oil monthly. Air forced cooling on a four stroke engine is not that good, four strokes run hotter than two stroke engines, and if you've got a four stroke engine it needs to be liquid cooled. It tends to eat spark plugs, boils the oil, overheats the engine. The exhaust silencer tends to perish with heat. The battery needs to be regularly float maintained otherwise you'll be buying a new battery every nine months. The plastics crack from vibration around the mirrors. Am about ready to throw it in the dumpster and get an Italian or Japanese scooter.

You absolutely right on the Ventos. Actually, Vento as a company no longer exsist. But you can always get parts for them, as well as scooters with the same body style. Anyway, if you have a Vento or any other scooter similar to the Vento. I recommend that you visit this website called ScooterChromeParts.com .
These guys seem to have just about every body part in chrome. They have many Chrome Accessories, High Performance Mufflers, Chrome Rims, High Performance Engine parts. And I heard they are looking to add Big Bore Kits.
To tell you the truth, in my book... this is the best and coolest website I have ever purchase parts from. They have everything you need to dress up your scooter. Go for it >> www.scooterchromeparts.com

i got my vento in 2006, bought it from a friend and i pretty much mistreated it,(leaving out in the rain, gunning as much as i could and borrowing it to dumb people who dropped it) But through all that it was still very reliable and started for me every time. so for the money it ran excellent for 3 years right now it's in the shop getting serviced. finally!!!

Vento Phantom 150 is OK for the money, you get what you pay for, 2,300 dollars new. looks great but cables, lights, and Gauges are common problem. speedometer in MPH/KPH and tripometer is in Kelometers. RPM gauge is all over the place. plastic side cover mounts break. seat bolt come out, fake carb cover broke off from vibration, same for the battery holder. on the good side is nice tires and wheels. overall good looking bike. not for open highways, cruse speed is only around 45 mph. any faster and you are running it much too hard.

i bought a used Vento Phantom 150 from a buddy. it has only 1200 miles on it. runs great but not the most beautiful thing to look at as it has bit the dust quit a few times. other than that i love it, its great for a around the neighborhood vehicle, plus i only gave $200.00 for it. i enjoy it alot and gets me anywhere. wise investment and would highly recommend it.

I'll admit I'm spoiled. I drove 10K mikes on a Burgman 650 last year (San Diego to Cabo, and then to Jersey shore), and also own a Honda Reflex 250. These are high end bike, whereas the Vento Phantom 150 is not.
This is a classic example of "You get what you pay for." If you want a high-end bike, you'll have to consider a Honda (Reflex) or Suzuki (Burgman), Vespa or Aprilia. However, you can buy 3 or 4 Phantoms for what you would pay for one of the aforementioned.
My experience with the Vento Phantom was from a 3 day trip around the island of Puerto Rico from a local rental company. Although the ODO only showed 1,100 miles, it looked and rattled as if it had looked 11,000. BTW, if you plan a trip to Puerto Rico, you too may be politely escorted from their toll road expressway (Hwy 22). Nowhere was I told by the rental agency that scooters are prohibited.

When I took the bike in for repairs, the shop kept the bike for 7 weeks waiting for "a part" from Vento. I called 5 plus weeks ago and ordered a new left mirror assembly. I was told yesterday there is no telling when the part will come in but instead I could buy two black ones (my bike is yellow) at cost. This is no way to run a business. I am extremely disappointed. I was intending to upgrade from the 150cc to the Thunder but have decided against that move.

Bought 2004 Vento Phantom in 2008 with only 300 miles on it. Like the looks and feel of it. So far so good. Question w/the 150cc engine what is the top speed suppose to be? My book says 60 Vento told me 50 any though there thanks. Over all good scooter. But for the price of a new one is it worth it compared to the knock offs.

Bought the Vento Phantom on line after speaking with dealer in 04. Shipped directly to home. Easy to assemble and fun to ride. I put 2500 miles on it mostly at WOT on a 55 mph rd with no traffic lights. Straight and level for 17 miles. Belt blew at 2500. Modified exhaust with Pro150 and rejetted carb and moded air filter to K&N. still tops out at 53 mph. I am 5'7" 250 lbs. At purchase I was around 180 lbs. Have seen no decrease in overall top end. Live at 6200' above sea level which takes away power. When purchase hard to get replacement parts: panel/light bulb/vacum fuel shut off (which is a common issue)/belt/gasket/fuel filter/decals. Had bolts break on the head and had to have entire head removed (rear end as well) to have them replaced with better bolts. Has been on the center stand for two years due to battery failure (second one my fault, take out for winter and put on charger, clock will drain battery. Have never used remote alarm or starter. Took out kickstart when I replaced the belt, other scoots don't use kickstarts. In all a fun scoot with a nice ride just maintenance intense compared to my Honda Reflex and useful for only short errands or city travel.

I think the 150 Vento Phantom I have is great. Smooth quiet and runs perfectly after 1300 miles. I don't know how long it will be good or if I'll be able to get parts though. So far its perfect.

Built very cheap, I've had to change the muffler 2 times, I left it out side on the coverd pool deck for two months and now the bolts are rusting the plastic on the head lights and turn signals are faded, and the front brake has always squeked and no one seams to be able to fix it. The gasket were the muffler pipe goes into the motor has vanished and made the bike run like there was some thing wrong with the carberator so after waisting time and money I finally figured that out. I bought this to ride to the beach and put only 1000 miles on it and you would think it was a lot older than 2 1/2 yrs old. I was worned it was junk but I didn't think it would be junk so quikly.

Overall pretty good, but regular maintence checks HIGHLY recommended for safety of nuts being in place and on tight.
I took it in for first maintenance @ 600 miles and the rear axle nut was MISSING! It just came off. I even drove it to the dealer's like this. I guess I was lucky not to get in an accident!
Regular brake cable inspection & axle nut inspection is HIGHLY recommended for safety!
Hard to find parts (cannot find an 18W H4 Halogen headlight bulb anywhere in Denver, CO). Put in a 35 W from a Honda and it works just fine (go higher and you run the risk of melting the headlight assembly).
Engine runs okay, but seems to run a little rough (could be the break in period as I have nearly 700 miles on it now).

This is my second Vento scooter (first was a Sauron GT 125cc). I got is through my dealer for a big discount. I took the lime green scooter and am very pleased using it as a commuter to work (saves my motorcycle for weekend playtime). I just got 90 miles out of 1.16gal of super-unleaded! Experiencing front end shimmy at around 45mph and suspect an unbalanced tire. I will have my dealer check that out on it's initial tune. Very happy with power. I live at over 5280 feet elevation and surprising power at this altitude. When possible I am going to Martin Racing Performance for upgrade to the brake pads. Just like discounted motorcycles, they have to skimp here and there. Brakes, plastics, and some build quality are some of the compromises. Overall very happy with the scooter and laughing at gas stations with every mile!

Ask me in a year if I'm still glad I got a Vento Phantom 150, but I like my local dealer and am delighted with the Phantom. I'll not be fiddling with the exhaust to get more speed. The quietness endears the bike to my wife and neighbors. I'm still inventing errands I can run on it. I'd suggest avoiding mail-order and getting the bike from a dealer who can set it up properly and service it knowledgeably. Got no dealer? Offer to order one through a local shop and let him make some money on it, provided he'll service it later.

If you need to update the lights you can find 12v 35/35watt bulbs at your local motorcycle shop. They will help you to see much better at night.
The bulb is an H4 bulb, do not touch bulb when installing.
I have a Phantom myself, And love it

I'd like to know if the reviewer still likes his Vento scooter?
I'm in the market for a Vento Triton.

I don't mind working out the bugs but there is not real Vento help that I'm aware of. I guess I'll have to take my Phantom 150 apart and figure it out myself. I've only been able to put on 1,000 miles so far.

Mirrors can be tightened by removing rubber seals and tightening socket screws. Battery problem seems to involve the anti-theft system. Disconnecting the battery seems to disarm the alarm system... then keep the electric key far from the bike and use the fork-lock only for security. Since doing this, my battery has done fine.
Good luck!

I've had my Vento Phantom 150 for about 400 miles now, it would be more but I got it in the winter. I'd recommend this scooter because it's a relatively good alternative to getting the name brand that costs double. Mind you if you aren't mechanically inclined, I wouldn't get this bike. If you like to tinker, then get it. I haven't had any major problems with the bike, but if you want to do anything to this bike, the first thing I would do is get a new sport exhaust since the one that comes on it is quite restricted. Then you will likely want a UNI air filter, and readjust the carb to compensate for the higher air flow. Back to the bike as stock: great manuverability, shocks are pretty good (better than I expected anyways, as I don't have anything with which to compare).
