Unfortunately, the seals at the cutter end have rotted out on mine and I would recommend that you remove the shaft from the wand from time to time by tapping the end of the shaft with a small hammer and punch. The complete shaft will come out. Once removed you will find seals and a small brass bus ...

I love the Braun MR5550 M HC&BC Multiquick Professional but am sick of having to buy a replacement when the plastic attachment between gearbox and blade stops working.
Last time I bought the full on Pro version and still it only lasted 2 years!
Why can I not just buy the gearbox?
Until I can buy ...

The attachment plastic piece that control the tractions on the
Braun MR5550 M HC&BC Multiquick Professional in all the pieces for mix, cut or blend it is not made for hard foods.
And brown does not sale the piece.

The Braun MR5550 is very useful because I do not hesitate to use it; it's easy to clean and there is no mounting or go get the parts downtime. I'm not afraid to get it dirty, its like a spoon vs a full fleged robot. How often do you use the spoon ?OK this spoon is a magig 400W wand.

i use my Braun MR5550 everyday, more than once a day. i have not faced any problem. each unit is easy to clean and it looks brand new. apart from the plastic units. i love multi attachments given. each parts are so useful. i can not imagine cooking with out my braun.

I would not use the Ice crusher at all as this will seriously cut your multiquicks life down to days never mind years. Braun also does not offer spare parts, which is a shame considering that the shaft piece that breaks is plastic and could be easily replaced by the consumer if they were available. ...
