    Me and my family got stuck in hurricane Willma in 2006, we didn't have much time at the hotel but what we did experience was good, the staff were nice, the food was nice, the hotel was nice.     This was a poor hotel and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but US and Canadian youths between 17-21. Cancun is getting grotty too, the amount of cash pumped in via tourism should be reinvested in the basics like water supply, sanitation, drainage and footpaths without gaping holes in them.     On arrival, the stench of chemicals was overpowering as we entered the reception area. The room that we were allocated was appalling.     Cancun, Club Las Perlas Hotel - The Airtours rep at this hotel charged us £120 each to move hotels, a complete scam, but we were willing to pay anything to get out of Las Perlas!
