The Shinco SDP-1720 is an excellent product with very good battery life. Inputs and build quality. Crisp picture and good sound.

Buy this DVD player, it's a great deal, don't be pressured in by cheap brands. Plus it has a 2-year warranty.

Basically it does what it said on the box. It plays just about everything that I've put in it and it's meant that I have at last watched some discs that some friends have let me borrow which have been in MPEG 4.
I would recommend this unit to my friends.

This review is based on the new Shinco SDP-1720 c model which is one of the best players available on the market. It has features galore and has a lovely brushed aluminum finish. Looks more like a branded more expensive unit, great value for money! It has a whole host of inputs, outputs and features ...

I have had the Shico SDP-1720 portable DVD player for about a week now. I had no problem at all to start with (although showing photos on it is pretty slow if they are taken at a large size on a digital camera - they are definitely quicker to show at a smaller size). I attach Intempo portable speake ...

My DVD player model is the Shinco SDP-1720A. The "A" is important; it denotes the latest model. I simply was not expecting such high quality at this price. This model has a metal lid, and it just adds to a well designed product.

Don't have high expectations for CD playback, as it can't do ever ...

I have had a Shinco SDP-1720 for just over one year now. When I first bought it I queried the level of noise generated by the DVD mechanism with the supplier and was assured it was normal. The player has packed up just the wrong side of the warranty period. A faulty mechanism that has finally wor ...

A good player let down by poor build quality and that sound sync problem. I had the 1720-A model (which is the metal case version), and looked after it but the hinge still went.

New version has a secure catch instead of a magnetic one, and various other improvements (2 headphone sockets, now pla ...

Bought my Shinco SDP-1720 after many months of reading, wasn't sure what I was getting a lot of people say its alluminium and a lot say plastic I don't care as long as it does the job and it does I've compared it to some standalone players and it's just as good if not better in some departments at t ...

Sirius is wrong here I think, the model he refers to is the older one. If the 1720 is not the best such buy on the market for the price then I'd like to know what is. I paid £167 from scan on todays special offer, but it's around £200 most places and worth every penny. The only slight ni ...
