I have been with the Royal Bank of Scotland for 7 years. I was made redundant a few months back and had struggled for a few months to pay all my out goings but we are talking no more than £20. Numerous times I rang the branch to arrange to speak to someone in order not to rack up charges etc. ...

I have been with RBS for nearly thirty years and when we first went with this bank they were great however they are now useless.
We paid our mortgage off ten years ago and thought where better than the bank to leave our deeds. Three years ago we needed our deeds and so asked the bank for our deeds. ...

Royal Bank of Scotland is an absolute joke of a bank. Two years ago when everything was rosy I had a bit of trouble paying off some student fees, so I popped along to my local branch to see about getting an overdraft on my current account. I was talked into opening a savings account and a student ac ...

I waited 10 days and then phoned them to check. They had no record of my application. I went back in, filled out all of the forms again, took bank ...

Royal Bank of Scotland is extremely bureaucratic and rarely responds to correspondence, whether complaints or routine. I have complained three times formally, and many times in branch. The branch staff were at all times courteous and helpful, but obviously up against a corporate megalith. The deteri ...

I opened a basic Bank of Scotland Key Account for emergencies and at first all was well. The online application was a breeze and the card showed up in no time. Then the troubles started, my pin never arrived so far I have both rung and visited a branch for a reissue (4 months later still nothing) th ...

RBS is number one bank of the world as per bankers almanac, you expectation of customer services goes high with the bank ranking. But you fell regret that the customer serive is one of the lowest/bad even as compare of any ordinary bank.

Like many other comments, RBS started off really well. The Business Manager was very helpful and all seemed to be going well in the first 3 years of contact.
Banks are supposed to be supporting SME's. That has not been my experience. Hinder or selling things we don't need more like!

Joined as a student when they offered a better deal than other banks both in rates, overdrafts and joining bonus'.

In the 10 years since then I've had no real issues or complaints and in general had a very good service though the charges for going overdrawn are very steep.

Online banking is very g ...
