I think the front slider to operate the lens is probably not a good design on the Canon PowerShot S50 and I am disappointed that this camera has only lasted three years as apart from that I was very pleased with it.

Over all, the Canon PowerShot S50 is a good camera. You can see the difference between 4 and 5 megapixels. The Canon PowerShot S50 takes good pictures and has good features, as many other articles illustrate. The problem is that the camera is extremely sensitive to it's environment, and is prone to experiencing failure when used in conditions in which you would never expect to have problems.

The Canon S 50 digital camera is a fantastic camera that will take perfect pictures if you point the camera at the subject and click the buttn on green (auto) mode. Further that this the camera has presets so that you can select the climate or the tyoe of picture that you are taking.

I was looking for a Compact Digital, with 4 or 5 Mega pixels.

It needed to fit in my pocket, so discounted some of the larger models like the Canon G3, Olympus 5050 etc.
