A ground-breaking camera that is still a joy to use today. Tough and simplicity itself to set up (after the mind-numbing menus of DSLRs), it looks and feels great. The viewfinder alone puts 99% of DSLRs in the shade. I score it 4 for features, only because it is now over 20 years old. Vive le F4! ...

The Nikon F4 was the benchmark camera and still one of Nikon's best inventions to date. Build quality has never been beaten or ever likely to be . Wonderful grip design either way up. Shutter sound is awesome....Cannot praise this camera highly enough.

An amazing camera. Second only to the legendary F5. I still shoot film primarily and this is my main backup body. Intuitive controls, good af, built like a tank

This may be the greatest all-around 35mm SLR camera in history! I still get gasps and aahhs when I whip (well "lift" actually because it IS hefty!) this baby out of my camera bag! People don't believe me when I say the camera's design is 20-years old! I love it and will NEVER part with it! No digita ...

For the photographer who doesn't like a lot of extraneous features, this camera is worth serious consideration. There is no LCD readout, just some knobs and buttons that do everything you need them to. Three metering modes, AE/AF lock, Shutter speed, ASA setting, aperture preview, Mirror lock-up, Dr ...

Although it's being said, that the AF can't compete with todays HiSpeed modules, it's the only weakness that this body suffers. But if you can live without using 600mm optics for Formula 1 shootings, the Nikon F4s is a perfect body for the Pros and the Amateurs.
Bought mine for 180,-(sic!) Euros in ...

Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Olympus make and have made in the past very good manual SLR cameras. Minolta are probably OK too though I've no experience with them.
