Avast is good at what it's supposed to do, but I do not recomend it for anyone with a system more than a year or two old as it is a serious system hog unless tweaked heavily.

I used Avast for quite some time and recommended it to people, until I realized that Avast was creating a bottleneck in my system performance. Plenty of benchmarks will show that Avast is one of the poorer performance anti viruses (in terms of scan speed) and some very specific benchmarks show it do ...

Righteous program, with fast scanning, totally cost effective with powerful detection. I also love the fact that the update packages are available for download from their site. Well recommend Avast Antivirus.

It's very secure and works amazing. It's boot time scan feature helped me remove over 50 virus' I didn't even know where there.
I think it's great that such a product is free. Mainly because the makers of it want to help get rid of virus' for free, not make money from it.

Been using AVAST for over 2 years (on to third registration now) and cannot fault it. Found a legit site with a file that had all the characteristics of a virus downloaded it and placed on desktop ran norton and it didn't see it, as soon as it finished on an AVAST computer it flagged it as a virus. ...

I deleted Norton and loaded Avast. On the first scan, Avast showed 15 virus' and Trojan's that Norton never caught or cleaned. Avast beats Norton in my opinion and I well recommend this anti virus software.

Avast! has a super resident scanner, with many options to ensure your system is fully protected and is working properly. Avast! detects viruses, worms and other malware such as spyware, and is free and very handy! 5/5.
