So far I have been extremely pleased with my set, in all circumstances of use.

I have had 3 9617 `s and all have shaded bands which are very visible whilst watching football during left to right camera movements. Purchased my Philips 32PW9617C in April this year.
The first set had to go back as a pixel had gone.
The second set has been OK except for the excessive buzzing and interference on surround speakers.
Now the colour and brightness chane on their own and the set has turned itself off twice.

The picture quality with Pixel Plus is superb but it seems to have problems with fast panning shots and is definitely not suitable for watching football so I run it in 100Hz mode permanently now. Quality is still excellent.

The wireless speakers are particularly useless when a tv audience program with clapping or cheering is on. The interference that is caused makes the speakers reverberate as though there is feedback. But at an extra cost you are able stop using the wireless facility by purchasing the necessary cables ...
