    The Old Town Otter Canoe is OK, but go a little higher and buy a Loon 111.

    The old Town Otter is a wonderfully stable kayak, great for beginners and those not wanting too great an adventure. I just bought one for my 76 year old mom and I use mine in flowing water and on Lake Michigan. Roomy without being sloppy. Easy to control. Very forgiving for beginners. My only regret ...

    I mostly use the Old Town Otter Kayak for open, non-flowing water but is also great for creek floating with quick water flow. Small rapids not a problem but you wouldn't want to use it on anything over class 2 or 3 rapids mostly because of length and lack of foot pegs. Can hold a lot of gear in no ...
