Strong powerful reliable engine, great handling, great interior an gadgets, nice whels, stonking breaks - thankfully! 200Bhp and easy to get more - see 300 Bhp easy and BTCC cars ran like this with no probs!

Lately the car has decided to stall quite frequently, mostly when stationary at lights. Engine seems to dip and then recover but mostly it dies completely. I then cannot start it and it turns over very slowly. I dare not continue as it feels as if the engine is gradually flooding. This has happened ...

If you can find a decent one buy it and have cheap fast fun, avoid £500 buckets and late ones with ecotec engines, expect to pay roughly £1200 for a decent phase 1 and £2000 for a phase2, best of the bunch in my opinion is the xe,d j plate phase 1in flame red.

I have the best of both worlds - a 98 GSI with a 93 redtop 150bhp - mint all round. Had to replace c.v boot and p.s pump in the 4 months I've owned it. Acceleration is good - it flies up to 70 and beyond. I'm very proud of my car because you don't see many around and its gleaming - It's lowered on c ...

Bought this Vauxhall Astra GSI just before Christmas there and first thing I done was a full service timing belt, oil change etc. The car has had a performance chip, boost valve, pipercross induction kit and a stainless steel from front to back.
BUY ONE I PROMISE YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Vauxhall Astra GSI's are very good cars and have very good performance. Some can hit 150mph in standard form with just 147bhp (with cat) 153bhp without cat. I was very impresed with my standerd gsi on the motorway. Mk4 golf gti 1.8 turbos (150bhp) were no problem for the gsi along with many more pow ...
