Uneven toasting even after preheating and following manufacturer guidelines. Swapped our unit for another and returned the second one within two weeks after going through a whole loaf with variable results. Very dissappointing for something that cost £195. Have now bought a £20 toaster w ...

The
Dualit 4 Slice has a nice stylish design but the switch mechanism has broken after a couple of years or so (quite dangerous as you'd put the toaster on, then it wouldn't switch itself off) ... not v durable for a so called premium product ...

Used one of these for years and although they look great I wouldn't recommend as toast too easily gets stuck if you slice it yourself as it only has one width setting. Pitta bread which puffs up when hot also gets stuck.

Toast IS NOT just toast. The principle behind a good toaster is to toast the outside of the bread fast allowing the centre to stay moist which in turn keeps it hot and deliciously . This is what makes the Dualit 4 Slice stand alone in today's toaster world. The difference in the texture and temperat ...

My Dualit 4 slice toaster was made in 1980. It still works like a charm. I've had to replace two lots of elements but they are relatively inexpensive , easy to find on eBay and with basic common sense you can replace them yourself. I agree with a previous poster that toast is toast, but how nice t ...

Why did we get one?? Well we had a wad of Amazon vouchers and decided to get something nice that you couldn't justify spending your hard earned hard cash on.
What is it like to use?? Once you've mastered the timer, very simple with assuringly clunky, robust controls. It is very solid with extra w ...

The Dualit 4 Slice toaster looks very stylish, but frankly toast is toast. I was disappointed it broke after 2 years, and the repair cost was more than buying a new (non-Dualit) toaster.

Yes, the retro look is in, big time. And I fell for it, but this Dualit 4 slice toaster is disappointing. For starters, it is mega bulky, the holes are not big enough to toast tea cakes, or they get stuck as you try and lift them up, it burns toast pretty much overtime or undercooks it (perhaps I ...
