I also have had the panasonic microwave for just over a year and guess what, the door has cracked.
Tried talking to Panasonic, they didn't want to know.
Will not buy another Panasonic product.

We liked the simple lines of the NN.T553W and its simple operation.
Our First Panasonic Microwave door latch locked the door shut tight , on inspection I found there was a design fault and the oven was replaced.
The replacement Oven failed outside of warranty but did not in my opinion give fair usag ...

The oven on our Panasonic NNT553W turns off after a minute or two, saying refer to manual, but there is no fix. Checked the internet and found others with exactly same problem. My advice is that this clearly has an inherent fault, not just a one off, so chances are, if you buy one, well you are go ...

Door catch broke after 18 months. On taking door assembly apart found door locking system very flimsy and can see why it broke so easily. Not recommended.

This Panasonic NNT553W microwave oven cooks fast but it interferes with my panasonic cordless phones. I can't talk on the phone when the microwave is running. You would think that a Panasonic phone should work near a panasonic oven. My old microwave did not interfere with the phone.
Also the door ...

I have been very pleased with the Panasonic microwave but bearing in mind that my previous two microwave ovens lasted ten years and over twenty years respectively i am disappointed that I will have to replace my current one in a much shorter space of time.

This is a great combi except for the plastic door, the first one I had cracked within two months, the shop replaced it with a new oven. Now that one has cracked after 16 months use. I don't have children and I am a very careful person so it's not from misuse and I can only conclude it's a fault.

We recently replaced our last Panasonic Genius microwave oven when somebody damaged the waveguide shield. It was very old but still works fine, and is now in the loft as a spare. Our new Panasonic NNT553W microwave works very well, and seems to be well-made, although I read that replacing the lamp i ...
