march 05 with 35000 on clock. full service history, my Nissan Micra K10 GSX was going great, good miles to the gallon and nice diesel engine, until the engine warning light came on. my timing chain apparantly needs to be replaced and will cost me around £1160. I think this is a disgrace for a ...

I am another careful lady owner of a 53 reg nissan micra with 23,000 on the clock who has just been told it will cost me £1200 to replace the timing chain!!! I bought from the dealership and have had the car since new. I too was told it was because of the oil (although the car was serviced i ...

One of the best small cars of its era. Refined engine, comfortable ride and a very enjoyable and direct driving experience make it a dream for those who wish to modify. Pre face lift has even more character with its plain grille and spindly steering wheel. Face lift version looks softer around the e ...

I loved my Nissan Micra until recently when I too had problems with the timing chain.
The garage I took it to told me this IS a recognised manufacturing problem with a bad batch of Micra's sent out (which I can only assume is 2003 models as mine is) and that most garages know about it (which also ex ...

The Nissan Micra K10 GSX provides cheap & cheerfull motoring. Very reliable. I don't recommend buying the later k12, can be very expensive to repair.

Have an 03 plate and guess what? Engine light comes on. Told it was the petrol sensor. Paid £109 to repair it. Light still on and now told...yes....you got it....timer chain! £1,450 quoted for repair. Amazing. What is wrong with Nissan? I am now stuck with a car that is 5 years old, no ...

I am another person whose timing chain has gone on a Nissan Micra 03 plate. The car has done 47,000 miles and is serviced each year. The Nissan dealership state that it is due to lack of oil in the car. The garage where the car is serviced confirms that they change the oil and oil filter as stand ...

I have experienced numerous problems since buying a brand new Micra in 2004, the most recent and expensive problem being the timing chain. The engine warning light came on so I took it to my local Nissan dealership while it was still under warranty on two occasions.
On both occasions they told me ...

The Nissan Micra was great little car until it started costing me money. Needed a new timing chain at only 24500 miles I am disgusted the dealer wanted to charge me £1192.00 pounds, got it done at my own garage for £653.00 which is still a lot but better than the dealer! can anyone else ...
