    I was given this scanner. When I try to hook it up and it tells me I need software or something like that could you please help me in setting up my 3200C thank you.

    The Hewlett Packard 3200C scans nice,
    works well most of the time
    works best on 98

    I couldn't help noticing the poor reviews of the Hewlett Packard 3200c scanner by others - I disagree.
    The scanner produces perfectly good results considering the price of the unit.
    I can't fault it at the price, and I can't really say that a more expensive scanner would do much more apart from of ...

    i can do better with a cheap hand-scanner. Ive never been so disappointed with a peice of hardware. I took it apart, only to find that the bushings that the scanner slides on were nearly unlubricated. I oiled them and the rod and it got slightly quieter, and the image got slightly better.     The driver installation has broken many times, I nearly gave up. I have much experience setting up computers, and this device has been my worst case yet.
    Scanning is very slow, not because of the hardware but the terrible software. I have a 6 years old Mustek scanner that easily outperforms the HP. ...
