It gave us a chance to believe what could be...and is there a greater euphoria? I was saddened by the ending, but at the same time, I understood and loved it. It always amazes me when reviewers are so shallow that they don't reach into the depth of their experience or they shy away from their own history when it comes to emotion. How did The Bridges of Madison County become so successful? I rather suspect that there are many more intelligently written 'Mills and Boon' romances.
