These motorcycle trousers are OK as a starter until you can afford better. Not very good at keeping you dry even in rain that i wouldnt class as heavy. Not gore-tex lined, but with a name like "monsoon" you would expect them to do the job well. Hein Gericke do better and they are guaranteed.

I am a very tall rider, 6 ft 7 in (200cm) so the leg length on the Richa Monsoon Trousers was a very important factor for me.
