It's not the smallest compact but then the 10x zoom needs space. It's not too big though, it's small enough to live in my jacket pocket (with small case for addition safety).
The results so far make me feel that my pre-purchase research paid off and it's producing the good for me. The pictures are ...

Bought it in New York for $320 it works out cheaper here great, recommened buy. Good screen, Fanatasic image quality, easy to use and never regret buying this quality piece of techno.

I've had this camera for 1 month now and don't regret buying it.
The 10x zoom and quality of pictures is great. All this in a small package that goes in your pocket. I highly recommend this camera to everyone that needs a compact camera

The Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ5 zoom works on movie imagesAutomatic settings just fantasticSimple layout and controls are deceptive as more functionality than TZ3 model is present I should know I have both models.
