I was impressed with it for all of about 6 months and then things started going wrong. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this dishwasher.

I also got a SMEG, form day one it was broken, they refused to replace/refund it and sent an engineer out who fixed it, it worked once and then broke again, then when I called SMEG, they said they would contact me in the next 30 days to arrange collection (I'd had enough and wanted a refund). I bought a top of the range SMEG Dishwasher 3'A's. After a few weeks the motor started sounding noisey. I called Smeg out. 2 weeks later they arrived and told me this was how it should sound. 3 months later they now tell me I need a new motor and a new programmer as does not always heat up the water ...

Year four and second break down I am having with my SMEG STX2 dishwasher and I have to get a new machine. I bought a stainless steel model at £500 odd I'd recommend anyone not to buy this make as parts are expensive.

Our new £600 smeg STX 2 dishwasher broke down after 3 months of use. Smeg took over 3 months to locate a part to fix it. Only buy a Smeg if you enjoy washing by hand - it's an expensive shiny box in your kitchen better suited to storage than dish cleaning.
