The vacuum should be avoided. It's very heavy, even for an upright. The hose extension is far too short, althought the range of tools is good.
The worse thing about the vacuum is its life. I recently sent mine back (under the 6 year warranty) for them to replace the motor (it had burnt out).

Do yourself a favour, and keep well away from this or indeed any vax product. This machine is really heavy, It does not do what it says on the tin, the 6 year guarantee aint worth the paper it's written on. Absolute rubbish. The story is as follows. 2 weeks after taking delivery, I was moving the ma ...

I have just received a new vax air mach, my first impressions are really good.
The machine looks really good quality and feels strongly built.
You get everything in the box that you need and it comes with a six year guarantee which would solve any problems.

Absolutely the worst machine I have ever had. Tried several makes over the years and vax seem to give the most problems along with dyson. Customer service not that heavy and the 6 year guarentee is not as straight forward as you may think

I bought the Vax Mach 6 on 17.5.09 in replace of my 1500 watt Sanyo hoover. I have 2 cats where their loose hair grips my bedroom carpet like velcro. Sanyo couldn't pick up these hairs, even when using the tools on the Sanyo it was a nightmare to shift the cat hairs. Mach 6 does this no problem an ...

I bought tis vacuum as it was on special offer but was very disappointed and frustrated with it.
Very heavy, difficult to manouver. Beware, there is a design fault on this vacuum, the belt slips off every time you go over a large bump in the rug, you then have to take it apart and put it back on. I ...

Well one thing first: the Vax Mach 6 is VERY heavy! Also, belts on mine need replacing every couple of weeks and at a cost of £12 for 2 is very expensive. They are also incredibly difficult to replace. I only used mine for 6 months i have now replaced it with a much nicer model and make! Cust ...

My Vax Mach 6 has a great pick up, better than a dyson with true stair reach and all the tools you'll need and a great price too! It puts the Dyson DC14 I used to have to shame. Free full parts and labour warranty for 6 years.
