Let me first state that the current interest rate really isn ' t good, its a variable rate account that follows the Bank of England ' s base rate and at the present that means the rate is low (and may go lower soon) but it is backed by the Irish government, which means if you have a lot of money and ...

Good rate of interest, very easy to withdraw from any post office up to £1,000 a day. Found the customer services very helpful and I waited no longer than I have with anyone else (about 6 minutes) in the queue. Was expecting delays due to the massive amount of accounts being opened on daily b ...

I applied three weeks ago and they got my money now but until now still did not get the welcome pack etc. I phoned several times and you are just put on hold for a long time. THIS IS NOT GODD! So I will write them a letter to cancel my application and get my money back.

They have managed to sap any remaining confidence I had left in the banking system. Closed the account 8 weeks after opening it and switched to Icesave. I least they have the courtesy to answer the phone.

I found it difficult to access your account once you give them your money. So far this week I have spent over an hour on hold to them just trying to activate my account. The customer service levels are awful!

Opened account at PO on 16 August with £500 prior to depositing large lump sum from maturing policy. 23 September. Have received various correspondence but no welcome pack or deposit slips. Cannot lodge more funds. Cannot get through by phone.

Think carefully before depositing, if you want to have immediate access to your money. No good points so far, apart from the potential interest of 5.75% should you ever be able to access it.

I didn't know if there were currently huge difficulties in granting on-line access, so the only way you can transact is by phone (difficult to get through) or by card (impossible if you live in a rural area). ...
