We eat at the Anchor Inn on a regular basis - with family, friends or just as a couple. It is one of the nicest eateries in the area offering a great location, a lively but relaxed atmosphere and surprisingly competitive menu prices that compete with good quality pubs!

I had the River Fish Platter, my wife the Stuffed Vegetables, my parents fish and chips and my kids burgers, they catered for the whole family. I discuss ...

The Anchor Inn's setting is worth a trip alone - right next to the river and a pretty kitchen garden, and I soon discovered that the pub lived up to its reputation also. I had fish and chips whilst my friend had lamb, both meals were delicious - great to see the hearty portions too, very reasonably ...

I had the river fish platter, (the last one I might add as they had sold out) and was really impressed by the way the chef had created 8 ...

Was presented with what looked like a fatty steak (am aware of what rib eye is so not surprised), surrounded by giant carrots, potatoes ...

If you're going for lunch get there early as they get busy quickly -and don't expect a meal in 5 minutes as everything is made fresh but definitely worth waiting for!

Nayland is a wonderful country pub/restaurant with excellent food and service. I have eaten there on many occasions and have always been very impressed with both the food and service. Give it a try and make your own judgement.
