My BMW 1200gs is coming up for 3 years old and I have done nearly 30000 miles. Cant fault the handling during traffic and touring, the tyres have lasted 12000 front and back and I'm on my second set. It has superb low speed handling and is comfortable at 80 along the motorways, can keep up with th ...

I've owned my R1200S over a yr and put 14,000 km's on the bike. I replaced the clip on bars with Heli Bar's they raise the bar's just enough to make long distance more comfortable. And added a touring windshield and throttle control from Twisted Throttle. Also has the factory saddle bags which are ...

The ABS coupled front/rear brakes really inspire confidence in all weather conditions. Excellent riding position. The low slung twin cylinders keep the centre of gravity really low and allow the bike to be ridden hard. Terrific engine torque makes this bike easy to ride whatever the terrain.
    The bik ...

I use my R1200GS to commute (filtering through traffic jams) touring and fun rides. Excellent all round all road bike. A good bike to me and I really don't know what other bike to buy.

Stepped onto a BMW R1200GS of these from a 600 Bandit - what a revelation. So much easier, more comfortable and I never expected the 25% fuel economy benefit. It was love at first sight. One year on, with another 8,000 miles on it, it has not provided me with any cause for complaint. The rear tyre ...

This is the second BMW R1200GS I have owned and it leaves the sports bikes on the twisty roads. May not have a huge top speed but its fun to ride and doe's everthing it says it can.

The BMW R1200GS is a great bike when its behaving itself but out of all the bikes I've owned this has been the most trouble, but having had major back surgery I find I can ride it OK, I do ride just about every day so maybe thats the problem, also for off road jaunts its good but a tad heavy, anyway ...

Why don't BMW replace all its torx screws with stainless steel Allen bolts (or Torx) that won't corrode? At these prices it's a dissappointment. Especially as they are billed as the go anywhere do anything machine. The inevitable chips on the bike frame from standard road use are already rusting - n ...

Bought adventure new in Aug 2006, well worth the 3 month wait. First service, dealer (Perth) overfilled oil by approx half a litre (out of the top of the sight glass). Drained oil myself and advised them not happy. Next service at 10k exactly the same happened, dealer couldn't explain why it had h ...
