I think German Shepherds are distinctive in terms of their attachment and loyalty to their owners. We have only had two, but with both I was acutely aware of feeling protected and safe with them. Although neither of them were aggressive in any way, I sensed that they were assessing anyone who was a ...

I have had five dogs and my German Shepherd far the best all around pup. Training, great with kids, cats and not overly aggressive. I have found the dog of my choice. Just remember what you put into your dog is what you get out of it.

I have owned German shepherds for 25 years and currently own 4 of them. All 4 are easy to handle together on leash in one hand. These dogs do need a strong willed owner willing to be pack leader, their desire to please in second to none in the dog world. You will get used to being constantly watched ...

A very loyal, obedient and intelligent dog that needs a responsible knowledgeable owner and plenty of exercise. Can be aggressive and temperamental which could be a danger for small children. More suited to mature adult owners.

Originally bred to herd sheep, the GSD is one of the most loyal breeds in the world. Unrivalled in intelligence, these dogs are used in a wide variety of jobs serving the public - such as seeing eye and hearing dogs and airport sniffers, police dogs, as well as great stock dogs.

German Shepherd dogs are great companions. I would start training my puppy from day 1. This is not a dog to leave in the back to yard, it will chew the siding off your house if bored. You have to consider this dog a member of your family, and should be treated that way.

German Shepherd's are very friendly dogs to "friends", but are also good guard dogs to people who aren't considered friends. I would definitely recommend to a friend.
