I am really disappointed to read the reviews here! I am searching for a replacement filter for my Hoover Alyx and in the process came across this forum.
I've had my Hoover Alyx for 3 years now and it's been fantastic - in both a flat and a large carpeted terraced house. I don't have any pets, so ma ...

My ALYX was absolute rubbish. Suction was very poor. I finally sent it to the tip when the exhaust filter wouldn't seat properly so it was recycling dust. Bought a morphy richards perform air model 71067 which works fine and actually has great suction. Hoover should be ashamed of themselves for sell ...

Hoover should be utterley ashamed of putting their name to this piece of junk. I had assumed I got a dud one, but the reviews here show that this is the norm - virtually no suction, the rigid part of the hose is too short for anyone over 5 feet tall, and don't even get me started on the design of th ...

We bought this hoover alyx vaccuum cleaner in the mistaken belief that Hoover would be a good bet. The suction power is almost non-existant, the whole thing is awkward to use, and the hose has torn in four different places already, even though we have used it maybe five times. (We bought another ele ...

Our Hoover Alyx is actually a 1192, but it is certainly no better. I read the first few reviews and concur with all the points made; I didn't see mention of another bugbear which is the strong smell of overheating plastic that accompanies the machine's use. A truly dreadful product that is inferio ...

This Alyx TC1182 has to be the worst, or correct me if you know of a better one, vacuum cleaner ever produced. How can a company like Hoover sell such rubbish there is more force coming out at the back than there is suction.

The Hoover Alyx TC1182 is the worst vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. I sucks up nothing yet manages to fill the cylinder ever 5 minutes. It is really noisy, has a cord about a foot long so cannot be operated without an extension cord and the extended handle at full spread is suitable for only those ...

I have been brought up on "Hoovers" so was a little surprised when I found how useless this Alyx TC1182 machine is. How can Hoover get away with this?

The Hoover Alyx TC1182 is the worst vacumn cleaner ever! I bought this based on it's small size and it's supposed ability to be ideal for pet owners. It has absolutely no suction, the filter has to be cleaned after each use for it to be effective and the pet hair attachment will only work if the fil ...

The cardboard box this Hoover Alyx came in was more useful.
No suction, noisy, filter clogs after 5 mins use, work of art getting to the filter. Wish I had never seen this machine - utterly useless and Hoover should be ashamed to put their name to this product.
