Harrier 48 VS autodrive. Purchased June 09. Within three months returned to dealer three times for drive problems. Hayter are reluctant to honour their guarantee arguing misuse. Had to threaten dealer with Trading standards involvement and small claims court before they conceded.

DO NOT BUY THE 2007 ONWARDS HARRIER 48. I have 2 of the earlier models which have run perfectly for 7 years, cutting grass every day all year round. The latest model is constantly being repaired, things break all the time. The autodrive is pathetic and always needs some assistance on the smallest i ...

The Hayter Harrier 48 was totally redesigned about 2007.
The previous models were the best in their class. However the new model has serious deficiencies which were not present before. You can tell this model because the grass box cover does not sit neatly down on top of the grass-box.
    Also note t ...

I bought the new Hayter Harrier 48 model in 2008. This has replaced the old shape of which I have purchased 5 over the last 20 years. These have given me trouble free use and I have recommended the model to many friends. It really was the 'Rolls Royce'.
The new Hayter Harrier 48 model is an engin ...

The new 2008 harrier pro is an excellent machine. Hayter seem to have listened to the complaints about the grass bag not filling and have sorted the problem.I had an old model that i used commercially for about 8 years and it proved very reliable. I don't know of any mower that does not struggle wit ...

Overall great machine. Never let me down. Starts first time every time. Reliable machine. I have had her for 9 years now and she still works and performs as your would expect from a commercial machine. Expensive to buy but worth the money. Heacy but solid. Cloggs up slightly when working with wet g ...

I am generally satisfied with my Hayter Harrier 48 but feel it was somewhat over priced. In my area difficult to get it serviced and its heavy to transport. Some rust on bar. Plug hard to get at.
