Bought a Hotpoint CTD00P just over a year ago and has failed just outside the warranty period. Still under parts warranty but £90 call out charge! The drum no longer turns so being a mechanical engineer I thought I could turn my hand to fixing it. Investigated it today and was appalled at the ...

After a nightmare £400 top-of-the range, sensor drying, condensing LG that first went wrong within 4 months I decided to go for simple, cheap (£200) and cheerful.

Broke down 4 times in 13 months, each time with a different fault. Customer service is not very good. Now I'm told I have to pay £90 to get Hotpoint to look at it. In my opinion - buy something else!

We've had one for just over a year and it's broken down twice and leaks water over the floor. We just had an engineer out to fix it and after saying it was done, it's still broken. I'm getting a Zanussi, the engineer said they were the best.
