Don't get me wrong I have been with the AA for 5 years, and only made use of them twice in the first year.
Back then my first call out was in the capital so you would expect a relatively good response time, and the second I had unknowlingly broken down within a mile of one of their break down statio ...

Taking AA cover 4 months ago due to traveling a high number of miles and thinking the AA would offer superior service, I only realized how mistaken I was when I broke down on my way back from Holiday.
40 mins after making a call to AA, they sent a man to have a look at my car. He accused me of not p ...

Like reviews I just read, got the first year for around £30 (bog standard roadside cover), renewal came through around £50. Cheaper if I cancelled and then re-applied as a new customer - even when I said I'd do that they just wouldn't offer me the new customer rate. They cited loyalty ...

Seems like the breakdown services have adopted the bad habits of the insurance companies in charging existing and loyal customers higher fees so that we can subsidise any new members they try to attract.
I had hoped for better form the AA. May rejoin them again next year as I'll be a new customer th ...

In my opinion when a service is up for renewal, a vendor should send you a reminder and ask for consent before taking money from your Credit Card.
They AA automatically debited my card and renewed the breakdown cover.
When I advised them that I didnt want to re-new the breakdown cover they applied a ...

I broke down near the end of a 2 hour journey, just a few miles or so from my destination. I called the AA and the lady on the phone didn't seem to understand which road I was on, although I couldnt have been clearer, so I was a bit concerned he wouldn't find me. She said he would be there within th ...

I pay £180 a year for just about all their services, over the past 7 years have had about 7 call outs in total (most being home start with battery replacements) we have two modern cars and a 34 year old VW camper which is the most reliable!
They recover the person and don't care what car you a ...

Firstly I called up as I had broken down with two very young children and my disable mother. I was told that a van would be to me in 40 minutes. I gave them the number on the blue sign next to the emergency phone I was parked by. This was at 4.55pm on a foggy night last week. At 5.30 the driver call ...

The AA are a disgrace and an absolute rip off! I had paid for AA breakdown cover for about 4 years before calling on their service: when my only surviving ignition key snapped off in the passenger door. All they offered to do was to call out a locksmith who would subsequently charge me £150! A ...
