    JVC had excellent quality products but unfortunately like all recent JVC products this one is badly built.     JVC replaced machine twice while under warranty.
    Once the warranty was up they did not want to do anything further, although all 3 DVD recorders I had from them had the same common fault.

    In 2.5 years of use this products needs a at least yearly "software update"
    I currently run the last version, and still the thing ends every recording session at its own chosen moment, resulting in "loading" on the screen.

    Had a JVC DR-M10 for 18 months and after the warranty had run out after 12 months it started playing up. I got a lot of crackling while recording and playing a DVD. My son had the same recorder just before i got mine and the same thing happened to his. It will cost £50 for some one to look at ...
