I would recommend the Flip Metal Head skateboard for beginners. Its an overall good deck, strong; had good flip and pop though the pop wore out quickly.

The Flip Metal Head, a good board for a really dry climate. The good thing about this deck is that it has a lot of pop and of course because it is a flip. The bad thing is that I left it outside in my garage and the next day I came outside to skate and the tail was all splitting apart and stuff.
