    I've bought the Acer AL1717 about 2 years ago. Originally, it gave a very crisp, bright image. Over the years, it has become less bright (I use it 9 hours a day for 5 days a week, so it's getting a good workout), but the most worrying thing is that I get some sort of shadowing.     I like the Acer AL1717 very much as it has a fast response of 5 ms and a horizontal viewing angle is about 160 degrees, which is quite a bit better than other brand LCDs.

    The screen on my Acer AL1717 LVD monitor is very bright, and shows very clear on any resolution for gaming. 15MS reaction time.
