General Comments

I may have gotten a total of over 12 qb78s in my life time. The QB78 rifle from Shanghi is a copy of the Crosman 160 trigger lock version. Tim McMurray was the consultant for Shanghi to spearhead the QB project. Originally China was going to build the parts and have USA assembled with great assurance. They were originally to be named the QB77 if .177 and QB22 if .22. However, with not a very good business ethical issue from China, the QB78 was born to not violate the QB22 or QB77 line. You can expect some roughness as these guns are typically under $80. Since the gun is all Steel, tuning is quite easy. This is a tinker's gun and can be made to over 18 ft-lbs. So many options to go such as bulk filling, shrouding the barrel. Accuracy is great, providing that you get a bad one once in awhile. My Qbs generally can outshoot the HW80s...I've done it.

I agree with your coments with the exception of it being covered in gunk when i got it. It's been a fine rifle.

I agree totally its one of my cheapest air rifle I own and the most accurate. The rest are springer and are very accurate but you just can't beat no recoil, good barrel, right pellet and a nice trigger. Its almost cheating busting 4" hanging clays birds, benched at 45 yards. Mines is a .22 QB78 stock scoped with 4x32 Gamo scope. Easy shooting. The springers reach out further 70-80 yrds but it takes more concentration even at 45 yrd.
