Good Points

This rifle is very accurate, competetively priced, well balanced, extremely smooth action and solid feel.

Bad Points

Although the safety is automatic, it cannot be reset if you decide not to take the shot. This is annoying if your quarry flies/runs away as the rifle is in an unsafe condition. The only way to solve this is to fire the rifle. The rifle is fitted with no open sites. The weight can make using the rifle on the field a struggle for people of smaller build or young shots (like myself).

General Comments

The Weihrauch HW 97K is an extremely accurate underlever air rifle from a reputable make. On the grip of the stock there is deep checkering and the build quality all round is of a very high standard. Weight is a problem for younger shooters however the weight does seem to aid the accuracy and this problem could easily be stopped by fitting a sling. The rifle produces healthy power readings with a wide variety of pellets. I found that crossman powapels and eley wasps worked very well but stay clear of gamo pro hunters. The scope grooves are very good, letting you mount anything from a large field target scope to a compact field scope. The rifle looks great and for the price is a bargain.
All in all, the Weihrauch HW97k is a practical yet great looking rifle with performance and features to match.

I have a 97k and i was reading your review and you said that you cannot reset the altomatic safty. All you have to do is pull down the underleaver when you dont want to take the shoot and pull it down until it clicks and it should be reset without fireing the shoot.
