General Comments
For the price you pay you couldnt find a better sports car than the Ford Puma 1.7. This is an all round excellent car. 125bhp - you can't go wrong. There are loads of places out there who make sexy kits for you car if you want to go that little bit further. Also performance wise.
For those of you who aren't quiet sure, or for those of you who are thinking pumas are garbage, my car's better, check out this site www.fantasycars.com

Ps. This isn't my site.

oooooh 125 bhp in a fiesta oh sorry i mean puma well same thing. try getting a v-tech not a cheap copy z-tech and you'll know the puma is a fiesta in all but external shape i like the looks but its just not special like a punto turbo or a crx and it is costly compared to better makes in that range. love the lights but its a fiesta.ford dont make anything good now all boring heavy slow unreliable non passion stuff.a crx coupe has reliability cheaper parts flair 160 bhp costs less and more mpg looks better etc etc insurance same but better all round

A Zetec doesnt pretend to be a VTEC and is a completely different engine. A CRX might go well, but when it came to corners i would rather be in a Puma. The fiesta is the best handling supermini there is, so for the Puma to be based on that - cant be a bad thing (just read reviews-or drive one!)I think u need to wake up and realise that Ford makes great drivers cars.

The Puma provides the perfect bridge between practical and an absolute dream to drive. I really love my Puma - it shifts when I need it to (leaving any set of lights basically). I've had no problems with it whatsoever - no dodgy noises - and it looks fantastic. WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I read all the motoring mags and have never read a negative review of the 1.7 Puma. It looks good, has a very nice engine response and the amount of grip is tremendous. The handling is still class-leading, pure and simple (and I'll include the new Mini Cooper in that statement too). Ultra-reliable too, thanks to the Fiesta heritage. The only downer with this car is the colossal blindspot. Tons of used bargains floating around for 1997-98 models too.

I don't know what your talking about the ford uk range is the worst in the world. Who wants to drive a hatch? I looked at other ford sites around the world and Australia the U.S. and Canada have kick ass ranges of cars and SUV's it's time they started selling decent cars in the uk as well instead of the four cylinder trash they currently do.

I LOVE MY PUMA TO PIECES. IT IS THE BEST CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN, AND IF I HAD THE CHOICE BETWEEN IT, AND AN AUDI TT, I WOULD CHOOSE THE PUMA EVERY TIME.
I HAVE NEVER MET ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LIKE THE PUMA, AND YEAH, IT MAY BE A FIESTA IN DISGUISE, BUT IT IS ALOT BETTER. BELIEVE ME. YOU JUMP IN A FIESTA, THEN JUMP IN A PUMA FOR A SPIN, AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON. THE PUMA WINS EVERY TIME.
AND LAYDEEZ, IT'S ALSO A BIT OF A MAN MAGNET!

We bought Percy in August 2002 when he was only 8 months old. At first I was not impressed at all with the tinny feel and cheap trim. My feelings have not changed. To be fair, it handles, brakes and drives well but just lacks a quality car feel. The stereo was dreadful and thing has more blind spots than the Channel tunnel! However, my wife loves him lots. Being a confirmed VW / Audi enthusiast one day I hope she will see the light, until then I shall stick to my Audi.

Just to say that I own a 4litre TVR Chimaera, a BMW 320i, an MR2 MK1 and a Mondeo Estate, and I have to say when I took a Puma out for a few days it was a great little car to drive, felt quite responsive, and a nice drive around town, most enjoyable. Far more than I expected it to be..
