It worked for about a month or so on win 2k and actually good too.

Bad Points

On win xp it keeps dropping my line, even as i type this.

General Comments

My Alcatel Speed Touch USB started out as a good modem bundled with the isp stuff but since i formatted and gone on to win xp (so i can play games and have not the resources to purchase another machine) it now seems i get just plain misery. I even loaded the newest drivers (version 1.6). even on the old drivers i get the same results, disconnects. the cd doesn't see the installed modem (sbc). i wish someone would resolve this and soon, the isp i'm currently with is good. and cable is so overpopulated here.......

The problems experienced by the XP users can be corrected by downloading the current 1.6 software from the Thomson www.speedtouchdsl.com web site. Make sure to remove all old USB drivers prior to running the setup.exe pgm. If you are using a 3dr party PPPoE client, remove or disable any internal NIC adapter while performing the install of the modem and during the setup of the PPPoE client connection parameters to the USB. After this is done, you can reenable the NIC.
