Good Points

Triband. Big screen which you can zoom out. All main features present. Massive battery life - I can go all week without charging. Infrared for PDA use.

Bad Points

You can't send people your address book entries (really annoying).
Setting an alarm is a pain compared to Nokia or others
Voicedialing doesnt work very well.
Still not as intuitive as others to work. Poor sync software.

General Comments

This Motorola Ti280 mobile phone is a massive improvement on the Timeport 250 dog. Firmware is much more like a Nokia (i.e. intuitive). However there seems to be too many 'are you sure?' steps, and the yes option switches sides on the dynamic buttons at the top, so you pogo around the keys a bit (the Nokia middle button is so much better). Dial and Hangup keys are the wrong way round compared to alot of phones, and are very close to dynamic keys. Hangup button doubles as a cancel function button, so if you hit it when doing the pogoing above you can e.g. delete your text message completely or kill your wap session.
Seems to take more steps than it should to chose text message recipient, but itap predictive text is pretty good, and pad is good for entering messages quickly.
Has a useful log for missed calls, vmails and txts. Beeps or vibrates every so often to tell you you still havent checked them, unless you acknowledge receipt. (which can be annoying or useful).
Infra red is great with Palm and GPRS.

I found this review very useful for several reasons; overall, it gave me a good idea of how the P280 functions in the real world; more specifically, I live in Toronto, and am interested in buying a 'world 'phone' that can also be used in the U.K., so the information that the reception was pretty good in London was encouraging.
