Good Points

Built in 5.1/DTS decoders. Multi-region. Plays MP3, VCD, SVCD. Good build quality.

Bad Points

CD tray door could be a little more rugged. First player didn't output to Scart correctly. Layer transition was noticable on a couple of my disks. Minor points.

General Comments

The Limit 8072 DVD player is a great little machine which I bought to replace a Proline 1000 after trying a string of Dansai 952s. The remote and displays on the player seem to be indentical to the Dansai incidentally. Played everything I could throw at it: MP3s, VCDs SVCDs. Multi-region was easy. Great picture quality and no noticable pixelation. Sound output was great too. Excellent features for the price. You can't go wrong. I bought mine from Richer Sounds as they didn't have an LG in stock. Turns out that it was just as well, as this is better.

I am actually just about to purchase the Limit 8090 DVD with the Limit PB583 Home Cinema speakers, does anyone have any information on the speaker performance?

I don't know about the speakers mentioned, but I got the Limit 8080a bundled with home cinema speaker set all for £150. Sound and setup is great value for money. Can be a bit overly quiet with some DVDs though.

I need advice : i am thinking of buying the Limit 8080a bundled with the home cinema system, for £149 @ richer's. it has been mentioned that the speakers can be a little quiet with some dvds. Is this a region-specific problem? also, does the sound distort @ higher volumes? (i was told this could be a possibility by the guy @ richer's.) thinking of buying it for my bedroom, square shape, about 16 square metres.
