Easy to use once set up and the TV pause is a great idea you will never get sick of showing to your friends.
Bad Points
Timer Facilities and picture problems.
General Comments
Once the Thomson PVR has loaded all the information it needs via your telephone line, (takes up to 2.5 hours to do this but it is all free phone) you are ready to start watching TiVo. For it to work properly you have to subscribe to Sky Digital, without the subs TiVo will only work as a basic video recorder. Menu's and timer setting is easy and you can watch a recording while the TiVo is recording something else. The timer though does NOT allow for over-run of programmes unless you enter this manually (which defeats the idea somewhat) and recording of ITV (Ch63) off air in my area resulted in a pulsing picture which could not be cured. Recordings from the Digibox are superb. A good idea but it needs some work on the software to justify the monthly subscription. Decide for yourself before you give TiVo the heave-ho!

The sub is collected by Sky who run the call centre for Tivo UK customer services. Tivo subscription is NOT a Sky subscription, you do not get or need a mini dish you get the TV listings Tivo needs to do it's thing. I use Tivo with TeleWest Digital cable and would not be without it!

Personal Video Recorders (PVRs) such as Sky+, the Thomson 1000UK, TiVo PVR and the Pace Twin Tuner PVR provide this functionality and also avoid the need for a separate set-top box for the TV set.

A lot of the problems with scheduling and programmes over running have been addressed in a software upgrade released earlier this year (2.5.5).
The subscription to sky is £10 per month.
I've had mine 3 months and am still really chufed with it.
