General Comments

This Kiiro 838d DVD player is a great looker but is let down by the play back. I bought 2 dvds to start my collection - not one can be viewed longer than 1 hr without faults. .. shame, tried various others with the same problem.
I have just Emailed the company that supplied it, Firebox.com, let's see how long it takes for a replacement.

Well I did the first review. Now the unit has been replaced.
I contacted Firebox who I purchased the product from, Needless to say the customer support for a unit that was 2 days old was poor, all they wanted was to pass me off with another phone number to call but thats another story (advice - see if the maker will sell direct). The unit arrived as prommised by Kiiro on the the day they prommised. Well what can I say that hasn't been said in the other good reviews of this product, apart from it does exactly what is says on the box. I put the unit through a Panasonic Receiver (SA-HE9 DTS +5.1). The sound quality is fantastic although you have to have the volume up quite high to get the effects, but this coud be down to the dvd. It has played everything that I have put in without problem even some copies that won't even play on some more expensive players. My only real gripe is that the manual is very sparce and lacks information about some of the settings etc.
Another good point is that the extended warranty is good value as well an extra 2 year for £25. Some might say paying a warranty on a product that is not that expensive is false ecommony, but there you go.
