General Comments
I am 13 years of age and believe it or not i know everything there is to know about vacuum cleaners.
I collect vacuum cleaners and have used over 400 different makes and models!
A few days ago i purchased my Dyson DC05 Absolute + turbo brush.
To start with i love the colours. Lime green and deep purple. The main reason i bought this model is i have a pet dog and a pet cat so there is a lot of animal fur on our carpets. The price was a bit high at £227.97 but once i used it i changed my mind. It came with 2 floor tools, an airflow driven turbo brush and a standard floor tool. The normal floor tools are usually rubbish at picking pet hair and dirt out of carpets but this one just glides over and the powerful suction removes everything straight away. The turbo brush is very useful on thick dog hairs but is no good at removing ground in dirt. The sheer power of the machine removed the most dirt i have ever seen from the carpets and it was really suprising as the last machine i had was a DC01. The filtration is really good as well-the first filter only needs washing every 6 months and the last filter (hepa) has a bacteria killing screen (Hepa means High efficiency pure air). The machine is also really good at cleaning stairs as it follows you up effortlessly.
The machine itself gets used evey day to clean the full house which takes around 30 minutes, by the end of which, most vacuum cleaners have burnt out but the Dyson just keeps on going!!!
All in all, the DC05 is the best machine i have ever owned but it is all down to personal opinion.

We have had the machine for 18 months, and there is a weakness in the two plastic collars that secure the tube to the head and tube respectively. Reading other reviews this seems to be a design fault, although Dyson Customer service claim that if people only used the handle and not pushed down with both hands on the tube, it would not break. Despite this, their service has been good, and replacement parts arrived free (2 years warranty)-however we have not found it works so well on our new carpets with our excessive labrador hairs - choose a better model with more suction/head motor if this is your requirements.
