Overall Rating

4 stars

Good Points

Lightweight alloy frame so you can lift it over gates etc,
Chunky tyres,
Fancy gear display dials.

Bad Points

brakes could be better,

General Comments

Had my Barracuda Snakebite bike six months. It's actually called a hybrid in that it has front suspension but doesn't have rear suspension. I'm told that this type of bike is a good compromise for those who want to do off road cycling and on road cycling. I mainly do canal towpaths so I think it is ideal.

For under £200 I think the bike represents a bargain.

I would like to upgrade to disk brakes at some point as the brakes could be better.

This bike sucks big time. I've seen better tricycles with a wheel missing

This guys right. Why put disc brakes on it? It'll cost at least as much as £200. I respect cyclists but there are manufacturers that make bikes for money or the love of the sport, this bike does not fall in the catagory of the latter - but keep mtbiking

they are both right about this bike save your money you do not need disc brackes for the type of riding you are doing

Too right, disk brakes on this bike would be a complete waste of money - but why did you buy ever buy a barracuda in the first place - what a waste of metal and money.

If the brakes disappoint, either get a new bike (!), or try stripping down the brake system - cleaning/replacing the cables, cleaning the rims, new brake blocks can all work wonders...
