Lou&Boo.'s Review of Smeg STX 2 Dishwasher

Good Points

It looks nice.

Bad Points

It never works and you have to wait over 3 months for them to get the part

General Comments

Our new £600 smeg STX 2 dishwasher broke down after 3 months of use. Smeg took over 3 months to locate a part to fix it. Only buy a Smeg if you enjoy washing by hand - it's an expensive shiny box in your kitchen better suited to storage than dish cleaning.
Smeg by name - Smeg by nature.

it's just a dishwasher. it's your problem if you chose to speand 600 quid on a dishwasher and then it breaks...try washing the dishes instead of clothes...you will get better results

Hey if their other products are anything to go by you're not wrong. My 13 month old Smeg fridge freezer (£1000) and Smeg electric cooker (£650) have just broke down at the same time. I have been waiting 4 weeks for a part from them myself only to be told they have none in stock and it may take a fruther 2 weeks. I should have gone with Hotpoint/Zanusi etc. Osman

It really shouldn't be your problem if the machine breaks in 3 months. Most people don't pay more, expecting less.
