This is a superb survival horror/action adventure game for the Dreamcast. A game that like the console itself is terribly overlooked. This is a game with a lot of charm that is likely to stay with you after you play it. The game takes place on a mysterious island called Dinosaur Island that holds a research center and is becoming infested with monsters. The job of the player is to survive, look for survivors and uncover the truth about what is going on. So yes, the plot is very typical of the survival horror game. The game is in ways similar to Dead Rising for the Xbox 360 as it has the not too impressive but still endlessly quotable dialogue as well as all those awkward pauses in between sentences. Things said by Dogs Bower, one of the game's two playable characters are especially funny. Dogs could be described as a cross between Barry Burton from Resident Evil and Captain Haddock from TinTin. The other playable character is Eliot Ballade who is the main character and a guy who feels the need to confess out loud how Janine King, the tough female character you come across, is his kind of girl and how she is perfect when he hasn't spent any longer than five minutes with her. He and Dogs each have their own unique abilities and you switch between the two to progress through the game. The fourth main character is the mysterious life form Nephilim, who I won't say too much about. There is also the ability to use melee attacks on your enemies and the fact that in places the music seems inappropriate that puts this is comparison with Dead Rising. The graphics are great but not the Dreamcast's best. The B-Movie music is great too. The game controls are easy to master and the gameplay is fast paced most of the time. I bought this game from Chillout Games for the price of £8.90, which to me is a steal! The game got to me right away and in great condition. I highly recommend this seller. If you like a good survival horror/action adventure game that provides hours of gameplay, tension and laughter then you must play Blue Stinger. One of it's genre's most charming and underrated games.
