My mother currently stays with us. She has become ill and needs to get back home. She had a ticket for the month of July. I called Lufthansa to see if we could get the ticket changed to an earlier flight because she is ill. Lufthansa could have cared less and told me that the ticket was non-refundable. Since the time that she purchased the ticket, the prices have almost tripled. Since Lufthansa had decided that we could not change the ticket, I filed a small claims suit. Lufthansa immediately wrote me back wanting to avoid the suit. I called and spoke with a spokesperson for the airlines. They told me that there would be a change of ticket charge of $100 which we told them we had already planned on paying that. Then they told us that we would also have to pay the difference in the ticket price when we already had a ticket confirmed for her. I told them that we would see them in court and the responded the same. LUFTHANSA IS THE MOST INCONSIDERATE AIRLINES I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. IF YOU CAN AT ALL AVOID IT, DO NOT FLY WITH THEM. MY HUSBAND WORKS A LOCAL TV STATION AND THEY HAVE SHOWN AN INTEREST IN SHOWING UP TO SHOW HOW A LARGE AIRLINES, A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR COMPANY, COULD BE SO HEARTLESS. SEE YOU IN COURT LUFTHANSA.

Don't be ridiculous! You wouldn't have any case in court!! Lufthansa are simply applying their 'Fare Rules' on your ticket. You will most certainly loose a lot of money if you try and take them to court! More fool you!

I had something similar happen to my mom too.Adding to that while she had to fly from nashville to chicago and chicago to franfurt ,they gave her a ticket which would would take her to chicago half hour after the flight from chicago to frankfurt left.My mom stopped flying lufthansa since. And she atlast made three trips after that and so did I.
