we had a mortgage agreed in principle over 5 weeks ago with the Halifax (through a broker). We initially had the survey booked in a week after we applied but our broker wanted to make sure that the mortgage was fully sanctioned before we committed a lot of money and paid for a survey. The mortgage was fully sanctioned by an underwriter a week later and since then we have been told that the mortgage is being sent out to Valuation. We put an offer in on our house and 4 weeks on we have been telling the agent the same thing that it has been sent to valuatuion. The Broker is miffed as he is being told the same thing but they have resorted to totally fobbing us off without giving us a reason, system erro, bank holidays as an excuse. We have now decided that today is their last chance to get the survey booked in with Colleys (the people who actaully get the survey done) and if if we have no results as we can call Colleys direct we are going to tell them to F**k themselevs and stick their mortgate as we are going to lose this house and cannnot wait any longer.
the customer service is atrocious, the way they have dealt with our case has been awful and they keep telling us the same thing. this is the most incometent outfit I have even come across. We have a healthy 25% deposit, fixed rate, repayment deal, it has all been rubber stamped and sanctioned so why the hell is the one easy thing taking so long ie the survey?
they were quick to takeo ur money and book the survey in before the mortgage wa actaully sanctioned but had they done the survey without sigining off the mortgage in full we would have stood to loose 600 quid.
dont use the Halifax as they will shatter your dreams and fob you off until you cant take it anymore and are pulling yuor hair out.
