Good Points

Bought it at Richer sounds, so far so good, just one problem. Have already played a few DVD's {region 2} , sound, and picture quality are excellent for such a bargain machine. CD and MP3 playback are as good or I'll be bold and say mp3 is better than through my computer, which is fully wired for sound.


Bad Points

I'm running through a scart socket, and when the DVD player is on standby, the tv channels recieve sound but the picture is blacked out. Is this just my machine? Or is it a common problem? When power is turned off at the machine everythinhg is ok. But this defeats the object of the standby function on the remote.


General Comments

The DVD551 DVD player is a top machine!!!
It's a bargain! Unless you want a designer label machine, this one does the job nicely.
